Sunday we went hiking. Each hiker gets a reward at the end of 425 stairs. And the reward is...a fine buffet meal! We had a great weekend.

The last few days, we have had some pretty bad weather in the evenings. It has been HOT!!! all day, and then these storms come along. I was hoping to catch some lightning, but no such luck.

I don't tend to take abstract photos like this...however this was an attempt at taking a photo of lighting bugs. I had to catch them and then photograph them in a jar. I didn't want to keep them held up for a long time. Not much advise on how to photograph them out on the web either. Next time I am going to try and take it later at night... and outside.

Well looking at this photo, I wasn't too disappointed until I saw what the ISO was set on! It was at 800, could have set at a faster speed! Oh, well! The plan is to take a few night shots in the next few days.

Just got my new glasses today. They are the ones towards the front. This wasn't an easy shot! I had to take about 25 photos to get 4 good ones. Just focus a little at a time and check, repeat until it looked in focus.

Compact fluorescent v Incandescent

Let's see how it goes. I have only one other CFL in the house and it isn't the greatest. It is the Flood Light type. It takes a while to warm up, so hopefully the regular bulb type will work better.
