This photo looked so much better in person. It is a difficult shot to take. You have to leave the shutter open longer to get the clouds, and you have to close the shutter quickly to get the detail in the moon. I played around with editing two photos and didn't have much luck. This shot was the best of them all.
This would be a good case of where you could implement spot metering. You could meter the moon several stops up from center while still maintaining the integrity of the surrounding clouds.
